Cheshire Show guests to win Lake District “Daffodils” home

Visitors to this month’s Cheshire Show will be in with a chance of winning a luxury lodge holiday home in the Lake District for a year.

The prize, worth £20,000 and can be shared between family members, is being offered by the holiday parks company which made international headlines this year when it planted artificial daffodils on the shores of Lake Windermere.

South Lakeland Parks, which owns holiday parks Fallbarrow, White Cross Bay and Limefitt in the Lake District, wanted to demonstrate the effects of global warming in William Wordsworth country after the exceptionally warm winter meant many of the famous flowers bloomed too early for visitors to enjoy. It was also to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the famous poem, I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud, which was inspired by a walk in the famous beauty spot.

The company is transporting a fully-fitted luxury lodge holiday home to the Cheshire County Show to show visitors. Groundstaff from the park which planted the daffodils will be attending and creating a floral display. The company will be at stand B09/150, and people need only fill in a short entry form to enter the competition.

South Lakeland Parks - which also runs nine holiday parks in the Lake District and across Lancashire will be showing people around the luxury lodge which people buy at their parks.
