Ribble Valley holiday park stages lodge open day

A HOLIDAY park in the Ribble Valley will be promoting sustainable tourism and things to do in the area at a special event over the weekend (July 14-15) as well as raising money for charity.

Daphne and Brian Williamson, who run Todber Holiday Park at Gisburn near Clitheroe, have linked up with the Ribble Valley Tourist Board for the July 14th-15th event.

The park which overlooks the famous Pendle Hill, is staging an open weekend to unveil its new “Pendle View” lodge development which has been built this year to attract more visitors to the popular countryside park. Staff from the Ribble Valley Tourist Board will be on hand to explain the delights of the area.

For the first time ever, the park is now offering luxury pine lodge holiday homes for visitors, with three show units available for people to look around. This is a major expansion plan for the park which until now the site had only offered static caravans. Installing the 22-plot major new lodge development, has resulted in growing confidence and popularity in the area as a holiday destination.

Luxury lodges are also seen as a more sustainable form of tourism because people visit an area more often if they own a holiday home and use local attractions, services and businesses more frequently which helps support the local economy. Prices start from £95,000 which is also competitive compared to other standard prices.

Visitors who would like to attend the launch weekend receive free wine and nibbles and can enter a raffle with the prize being a short break at one of the company’s sister parks in the Lake District. All funds raised will go to the Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley which helps terminally ill children from across the North West. There will be a free barbecue and patio sets to anyone signing up for a holiday home too. For more information call the park direct on 01200 445322.
